Who is W2 Homes?
We are a general contracting company that was established in June 2007. Our two founding members are BJ Whitesell and Rob Wetzel. BJ and Rob established W2 Homes to be a company that focuses on building a quality custom home that is environmentally friendly and energy efficient; or in short a “Green-Built Custom Home”.
What is our experience and construction background?
W2 Homes LLC owners, BJ Whitesell and Rob Wetzel, have combined their joy for building with their care for protecting the environment into a strategy for elevating those values through the construction of ‘green-built’ custom homes. BJ is a licensed general contractor with a degree in geology from ECU. Rob is the manager for W2 Homes and also serves as an associate pastor in his local church. Bj and Rob have extensive experience in the building industry and have managed the construction of over 250 homes in Wake County.
What is our mission and why green building?
Simply put, we want to build quality green-built custom homes. Quality home building is something that we enjoy doing and protecting the environment is something that we care about. W2 Homes wants to elevate those two values by building quality custom homes that are environmentally friendly. We want to convey a message that building green is not an extremist mentality, but rather a new way of thinking in home construction. Through conscious and strategic building, we want to elevate the message that having a nice custom home is something that can be environmentally friendly and highly energy efficient.

Recognized by the HBA of Wake County, the Green Home Builders of the Triangle and the US Green Building Council, this Energy Star certified home has many upgraded green-built features. W2 Homes is also a participant in the Triangles Green Home Building Initiative program. This project will be on display in the Triangle's 3rd Annual Green Home Builders Tour in May of 2008.
